Darrell McCoy is a security professional with over 15 years of security experience encompassing both private and publicly held corporations, highlighted by creating, implementing and managing productive security programs and Business Protection programs for a Fortune 500 company over a multi-site region.
He is the current Branch Manager for General Security Service, Inc. In his present role he is responsible for the management of customer accounts assigned to the branch, managing the guard force, supervising the administrative staff and contributing to the overall profitability of the company. He is also responsible for the development of new sales and selling of targeted services and solutions to the company’s clients.
Prior to working at General Security Services, Inc. Darrell was employed by Pfizer Inc. as the U.S. West Region Security/Crisis Management/Business Continuity Manager at the Pfizer La Jolla Site. In this role, Darrell managed all aspects of Physical Security, Business Continuity, Crisis Management and Intellectual property for all business lines located at the Pfizer La Jolla Site. Prior to working at Pfizer, Inc. Darrell was employed as a Security Manager at Barona Valley Ranch Resort and Casino.
Darrell is the current chapter chair for the San Diego Chapter of ASIS and has served on the San Diego Chapter Board for the last 8 years. He holds the Certified Protection Professional (CPP) designation from ASIS International and the Associate Business Continuity Professional (ABCP) designation from DRI International. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration from Webster University. Darrell gives back to his community by participating in community events and consulting on Security and Business Protection issues.
