A former Navy Surface Warfare Officer and senior US Government intelligence officer with extensive operational service overseas, William’s career in security began as a seaman recruit in the early eighties, while onboard USS San Diego, homeported in Norfolk: One day, he was ordered to take a nightstick and a radio, and go stand watch at the head of Pier 3 and keep it secure. Since then, William has accrued experience in international affairs, human intelligence operations, physical and operational security management, policy analysis and strategic planning, converged security, assets and information protection, and intelligence collection and analysis. A graduate of the University of San Diego on a Navy ROTC scholarship, William served and resided in several countries around the world, including Latin America, Asia, Europe and the Middle East, both with the Navy afloat and ashore, and the US Government. William is an instrument-rated commercial pilot (land and sea), and fluent in Spanish.
A Certified Protection Professional (CPP), and a licensed real estate broker, William has a real estate and security consulting practice. As Placement Committee Chairman, William’s goal is to gather and disseminate information related to the security job market in San Diego, and assist Chapter members as they explore career opportunities.
